PAINTINGS FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS |
Once a year I open my studio to sell my paintings. In 2015, I will be devoting my open house to the benefit of the Wounded Warriors Project. If a donor would like to have one of my paintings and makes a donation to Wounded Warriors equal to the sales price of the painting, I will gift the painting to the donor. Since the donor’s contribution will be made directly to Wounded Warriors, the donor will receive 100% of the tax benefit.
The purpose of “Paintings for Wounded Warriors” is in recognition of the service of our brave warriors who heroically and unselfishly make sacrifices to serve their country and keep us safe. These brave women and men have and will continue to have challenges that we could never imagine. I hope you will agree and go to http://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/individual-fundraising/paintings and make a donation regardless of your desire to own a painting. Paintings range from $100 to $10,000.

ARTIST STATEMENT
In 2004, I began to work with a variety of materials with the goal of creating abstract art with a greater intensity, saturation and luster in colors not generally seen in the art world. In short, I wanted to create art with a pulse. I approach each canvas with a general vision of what I want to create, but, with every application of paint, I follow the flow, deciding whether to intercede with the movement of the colors on the canvas or let the painting evolve organically as the colors interact and settle. Depending on the outcome of these initial steps, I then employ layering methods that I have developed over the past several years, achieving a glass-like result with saturated color creating unique optical properties that combine both intricate detail at close range and great depth from a distance. Some canvases have as few as three layers and others as many as 30 layers, but all display rich colors and luminous hues. When my painting has come to life, I know it is complete. My collection is a compilation of diverse paintings, each unique in motif, style, content and palette.
